Creative Team

Allison Boomer, Founder, Eco-Conscious Food Marketing

Before starting Eco-Conscious Food Marketing, Allison Boomer, a registered dietitian, owned and operated a specialty food store for ten years in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. The practical knowledge she gained working with dozens of specialty food importers, distributors, manufacturers and consumers combined with her nutrition expertise have provided a unique and valuable skill set for her current work. Allison has a thorough understanding of the artisan food market and brings a keen passion and aesthetic sensibility to her work.

Allison’s innovative product development for French vinegar company Martin Pouret and Argentine company La Salamandra led to exclusive distribution, in 2008, of her creations by Williams-Sonoma stores nationwide.

Allison is also a food writer whose articles and recipes appear regularly in the Boston Globe and Eugene Magazine. She has written about health and eco-friendly foods, such as handcrafted cheese, heirloom beans and artisanal salt.

At the start of her career, Allison worked as a health educator for the Michigan Cancer Foundation and as chief research nutritionist for the Division of Oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She received national recognition for her expertise in nutrition when she was selected and trained as the first Detroit-area media spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. Allison has been quoted in dozens of newspapers and magazines and has been featured in radio and TV interviews.

Allison has a BS degree in community nutrition from the University of California, Davis, and a master’s degree in public health.
